Fruity Winter Porridge

Preparation Time: 3 minutes

Cooking Time: 5-8 minutes

Ingredients:

80g of Hale & Hearty Gluten Free Oats

25g of chopped apricots

25g of chopped pitted dates

1/2 small banana, chopped into pieces

1tsp cinnamon

1tps whole golden flaxseeds

350-380ml of water / milk / dairy-free milk

4tsp soft brown sugar  

Cooking Instructions

  • Place the oats, chopped  fruit, flaxseed and cinnamon in a large saucepan

  • Add the water or milk and cook over medium heat for 3-4 minutes, stirring while cooking

  • Turn on to low heat for a further 3-4 minutes until the rolled oat flakes appear soft and ready to eat.

  • Serve into bowls, add a little brown sugar, agave syrup or other to sweeten further if desired (although the fruits let out their natural sugars and flavour this porridge beautifully on its own)

  • Sprinkle top with additional nuts and fruits, a drizzle of milk and enjoy piping hot!
