Our founders belong to a family of coeliacs - intolerant to wheat and gluten, so we know first hand how hard it can be to include sufficient dietary fibre and minerals in a traditional  gluten free diet.  That's why we have gone to great lengths to source a wide variety of interesting flours and grains, all of which have helped us develop a range of products that are healthier, more wholesome and tastier than conventional, highly refined foods - even than existing food brands that are free of wheat and gluten!

Most gluten free brands rely on over refined potato, rice and corn starches as fillers to replace the wheat and gluten flours.  Our mission at Hale & Hearty is to avoid this pasty, white, low nutrient trio and replace them with healthier alternatives.

Wholegrains are nutritionally superior to refined grains. They are richer in dietary fibre, antioxidents, protein and dietary minerals found in cereals   such as magnesium; selenium, Vitamin B6 and Vitamin E. Wholegrains are digested and enter the bloodstream more slowly (as measured by glycemic index) and are therefore lower GI starches which have more fibre and help control appetite, so fewer calories are consumed.

Our recipes don't rely exclsively on overly processed white rice flour, corn starch or potato starch - instead, the ingredients  we use often contain as much as four times the amount of dietary fibre found in refined grains. That's why they're so deliciously wholesome!
