Switching to a healthier free-from diet
We can all benefit from a lower GI diet rich in nutrients like fibre and protein, and free from wheat, gluten and dairy. Why?
For starters, most manufactured foods - including many health and 'free from' brands, contain refined white carbohydrates and a high proportion of processed wheat and gluten, all of which are detrimental to our health.
Food intolerances and allergies, chronic IBS, digestive disorders like Chrons and Colitis, diabetes and heart disease...With diet related illnesses on the rise, the importance of switching to a wholegrain diet can no longer be underestimated. We should all eat plenty of fresh foods, fruits and vegetables at home, but we also need to be vigilant about the abundance of convenience products and snacks available.
Many food intolerances and sensitivities - including reactions to wheat, gluten and dairy, IBS symptoms, bloating and weight management - can be improved by eliminating processed foods from your diet and by checking the ingredients on product lables.
Whilst some people such as coealic's, eat free from food out of necessity, more people are switching to a free from diet out of choice, driven by the desire to improve their eating habits and improve their quality of life.
Unfortunately, many leading free from brands use ingredients which have little or no nutritional value. That's why we founded Hale & Hearty, so people switching to a free from diet - out of choice or necessity - can look forward to deliciously wholesome food packed with the finest, most nutritious ingredients!
