"'The more wheat a person consumes, the less their chances of being in optimum health'

"Patrick Holford published results of his 100% Health Survey this month with findings that show a direct corelation between optimum health and daily consumption of wheat.

The survey helps identify what kind of diet is associated with high level health and just how unhealthy we are in Britain. He concludes that the more wheat a person consumed daily, the less was their chances of being in optimal health.

62% of those who consumed 5 portions of wheat per day were in poor health, compared to 41% who ate 2 portions or less. High wheat consumption was associated with low energy, gaining weight and feeling apathetic and unmotivated.

Wheat was not a part of our evolutionary diet but, in the 21st century have since become staple foods, still promoted by dieticians and governments as part of so-called well balanced diet"

At Hale & Hearty, we belieive that avoiding wheat and choosing healthy, alternative grains is not just for people with food intolerances, but a healthy choice and good way of keeping your diet varied.
